Christmas Eve Homily By Bishop Brendan - 24th December, 2021 at St John Cathedral, Limerick....

Bishop Brendan sends Christmas wishes to the people of Limerick. 

The Feast of the Epiphany is celebrated on January 6th. This feast commemorates the visit of the wise men to worship the baby Jesus. Tradition tells us that their names were Caspar, Melchior and Balthassar. 

Listen to Bishop Brendan’s invitation to you, in response to Pope Francis encouraging us to include the crib/nativity scene as part of our Christmas decorations and celebrations.

Pope Francis has written an Apostolic Letter on the meaning and importance of the nativity scene. He signed the Letter during his visit on Sunday afternoon to the Italian town of Greccio.

As a way of giving to those families in need, St John the Baptist parish has set up a Giving Tree in St. John’s Cathedral and it will remain there until Sunday 15th December.
