“Saint Joseph was a just man, a tireless worker, the upright guardian of those entrusted to his care. May he always guard, protect and enlighten families.” – Pope John Paul II
From the Knock Shrine:
Today we celebrate the Solemnity of St. Joseph, the gentle man, the quiet man from whom not one word is recorded in Scripture.
Here at Knock, he appeared by Our Lady’s side, his head bent in prayer. To quote Mary Byrne ,”St. Joseph's head was slightly bent and inclined towards the Blessed Virgin, as if paying her respect."
Today, let us ponder St. Joseph, the husband of Mary, the protector of the Holy Family, the guardian of the Church.
We pray for our families, we pray for the most vulnerable in society, we pray for the sick and the lonely.
Like St. Joseph, let us consecrate ourselves to Mary. Join us live online today as we continue our National Novena at 12 noon and 7pm.
We invite you to light a candle for your family, for those entrusted to your care, here at Knock on this special day.
St. Joseph, pray for us.

This is a lovely message to fathers from Pope Francis a couple of years ago.
