BISHOP of Limerick Brendan Leahy has urged all to be supportive and patient with the key task of getting schools up and running – a task he described as both wonderful and challenging for all involved.

AS THOUSANDS of pupils return to the 'new normal' classroom experience amid the Covid-19 pandemic, the Bishop of Limerick Brendan Leahy is urging people to be supportive and patient.

MANY have prayed in the stand of Limerick Racecourse but this time there were no horses running.

Pupils of three schools in the parish of Mungret-Crecora-Raheen celebrated their Confirmation in Greenmount, Patrickswell on Saturday.

In this first lesson Eleanor, Johanna and Fr Chris help girls and boys to understand Reconciliation (Confession) and how important it is to admit when we make mistakes, say we are sorry and receive God's forgiveness through Reconciliation. 

In this second lesson Eleanor, Johanna and Fr Chris help girls and boys to understand the different parts of the Mass: Sorry, Story, Supper and Sending.  They learn how Jesus is present for them in the Community gathered, in the Word and in Holy Communion.

In this third lesson Eleanor, Johanna and Fr Chris help girls and boys to learn the prayers and responses for the different parts of the Mass and prepare them to receive Jesus in Holy Communion.  

Knock Shrine will be closed next Saturday, 15 August, the Feast of the Assumption, on what is generally one of its busiest days each year.

In this first episode, Eleanor and Johanna focus on how the Holy Spirit makes a difference in our lives.
