Trinity Sunday - Year B

S: Good morning - today we celebrate the feast of The Holy Trinity - God the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

B: On this the Feast Day of the Holy Trinity, we celebrate really that “God is Love”, that we are his children and he has asked us to call him Father.

S: God is Father, Son and Holy Spirit and our word of life for today could be “Glory be to the Father, and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit”, or even by making the simple sign of the cross, being more aware of the action that goes with it.

B: I came across a story recently about a Grandfather and his granddaughter - they were sitting talking when she asked

“Did God make you Granddad?”

“Yes, God made me” the grandfather answered.

A few minutes later, the little girl asked him, “Did God make me too?”

“Yes he did” the older man answered.

For a few minutes, the little girl seemed to be studying her granddad, as well as her own reflection in the mirror, while her grandfather wondered what was running through her mind. At last she spoke up.

“You know, Granddad,” she said, “God’s doing a much better job lately.”

S: It’s a nice story, especially with Father’s Day coming up next Sunday. The Annual Novena starts this Friday at the Redemptorists Church on Henry Street. It will run for nine days until Saturday 24 th June. You might be interested to hear that along with the usual sessions there are going to be two in polish each day (not in the main Church) and there will be confessions in Slovak on Friday, 23 rd June, 3-6p.m. and 7.30-10.30p.m.

B: You’ve been listening to "Just a thought" with Brenda Cribbin...

S: and Seamus Madigan. We can be contacted through the Limerick Diocesan Offices at Henry Street. You can also download your own copy of this reflection by clicking on limerickdiocese.org

B: We look forward to your company next week, so take care...

S & B: Bye
