Third Sunday of Lent - Year B
S: Good morning – Today we ask ourselves the question – what do we believe in? And I suppose we’re thinking particularly about things that are beyond what we can see.
B: I suppose those kind of things are love, understanding, peace and the existence of God – which brings us to our word of life for today, “Many believed in His name”. Lent is a time when we reflect on our faith – on things that we cannot see, for example - our generosity towards the needy.
S: Yes Lent is a time to re-evaluate. It’s a bit like going for a check-up – we need to examine how well we’re doing in the living of our Christian lives. Are we doing our best to love God and neighbour – are we embracing the challenge of Lent to see if we need a change of heart in areas of our lives. So many questions and I guess these are some of the questions we need to entertain.
B: This morning our reflection is called “Enjoy Life” and it reminds us that the greatest joys of life come from sharing.
Enjoy life, and don’t complain because God sends a little rain.
The rain will pass and you will see rainbows where clouds used to be.
Enjoy life; there is much to do, for every day brings something new.
The grass is always sweet and green when you rise above each day that you live, for blessings come to those who give.
Share the joy that’s in your soul with those who have no worthy goal.
Enjoy life both night and day, and watch your sorrows fade away.
If you could be a happy (man) person … you’ll succeed when you think you can!
S: Before we go, we would just like to wish you all a very happy St. Patrick’s weekend. I hope that you are enjoying it and that wherever you are you are that you feel safe.
B: You’ve been listening to “Just a thought” with Brenda Cribbin…..
