Sixth Sunday - Year B
S: Good morning – well Valentine’s Day is almost here. So today we’re on about love and we are especially keeping in our thoughts those of you who are preparing for Marriage.
B: Our word of life for today comes from all the Gospels really - “love one another as I have loved you.’ And that says it all really love and forgiveness are at the core of Jesus’ message and all relationships.
S: Recently, I was speaking to some people who work in Accord - the marriage preparation people - and I asked them how many couples would be involved in preparing for marriage at the moment and would you believe it there are hundreds!
So I’m afraid we can’t say hello to you all but we are thinking of you today - this reflection is for you and all newly married couples.
B: Love is like magic and it will always be.
For love still remains life’s sweet mystery!
Love works in ways that are wondrous and strange
And there’s nothing in life that love cannot change
Love can transform the most commonplace
Into beauty and splendour and sweetness and grace
Love is unselfish, understanding and kind.
For it sees with its heart and not with its mind!
Love is the answer that everyone seeks
Love is the language that every heart speaks
Love can’t be bought, it is priceless and free.
Love like pure magic is a sweet mystery.
S: Getting back to Accord for just a moment. If you are preparing to get married one of the big tasks that people take on is preparing a marriage booklet. It can be a lot of work. I remember putting a booklet together for one of my sisters. Anyway Accord have now made this task so easy if you have access to the internet. Just type in www.gettingmarried.ie and you will find all the reading, prayers, sample vows etc that you need to put a booklet together. No need for all that typing, just download the items you wish to have in your booklet, type in the name of the bride, groom, church, date, etc and you have your booklet ready to print. That address again is www.gettingmarried.ie
B: You’ve been listening to “Just a thought” with Brenda Cribbin...
S: and Seamus Madigan. We can be contacted through the Limerick Diocesan Offices at 66 O’ Connell Street or by e-mailing smadigan@limerickdiocese.org. If you would like your own copy of this reflection you can download it by clicking on limerickdiocese.org
B: We look forward to your company again next week, so take care…..
S& B: Byee……….
