YEAR A - 9 TH March 2008
D: Akuna Matata Brenda
B: No Worries!
D: Yes it means –no worries in Kiswahili, as all who have seen the film , the Lion King.
The language spoken by Nagiaro, the boy who stares out at you from the Trocaire box.
B: Trocaire, the Development agency of the Catholic church in Irelandhas climate change as its focus in this years Lenten campaign.
D : In fact Nigero has lots of worries for his future. The way of lie of his people is threatened by changes in the climate……the great burden of which the people of the developing world will carry
B: These Lenten days, we pray for all those throughout the Earth, whose access to the necessities of life is threatened by the day to day lives of people in the developed world
D: These Lenten days we pray for all those who work to alleviate their suffering, in particular we pray for the work of Trocaire.
B: Our reflection today is called the difference, to reflect on what differences we can make in our lives during Lent.
The Difference
I got up early one morning andrushed right into the day;
I had so much to accomplish that I didn’t have time to pray.
Problems just tumbled about me, and heavier came each task.
“Why doesn’t God help me ?” I wondered,
He answered to say, “ You didn’t ask”.
I wanted to see Joy and beauty, but the day toiled on grey and bleak;
I wondered why god didn’t show me.
He said, “ You didn’t seek.”
I tried to come into God’s presence; I used all my key’s at the lock,
God gently and lovingly chided, “My child, you didn’t knock.”
I woke up early this morning, and paused before entering the day;
I had so much to accomplish that I had to take time to pray.
