24 th Sunday - Year C
B: Good morning - and welcome back to Just a Thought on Limerick’s Live 95fm. I guess everyone has settled into school at this stage and we would like to wish everyone in our schools, colleges and University the very best for the year ahead. Congratulations to all the junior cert students who received their results this week. I am joined this morning by a new co-presenter. As you know Seamus is off to Kosovo soon with the Defence Forces and we will keep him and all our soldiers on peace keeping duties in our prayers…Fr.Seamus is here with us in studio. I would like to take the opportunity to say I have enjoyed working with Seamus, preparing, recording and listening back to the thoughts and reflections. Thank you Seamus for your time ,energy ,work, support which you did with a sense of fun and joy over the last seven years. I wish you all the very best on your new mission with the defense forces in Kosovo. May you be happy and safe. And now, back to the new co-presenter of Just a Thought….. His name is Fr. David Bracken, David welcome to Just a Thought!
D: Thanks Brenda, I’d also like to send best wishes to Seamus as he heads to Kosovo in 2 weeks time. So, to tell you a little bit about myself: I am the curate in St. Nicholas’ Parish in Westbury and I have been ordained now for 5 years…. I originally come from the Ennis road and it’s great to be here
B: Our reflection this morning is by Pamela Owens and is entitled; Be strong and don’t give up.
Remember….. there is a deeper strength
And an amazing abundance of peace available to you.
Draw from this well;
Call on your faith to uphold you.
Realize that life is a series of levels,
Cycles of ups and downs –
Some easy, some challenging.
D: Through it all, we learn;
We grow strong in faith;
We mature in understanding.
The difficult times are often the best teachers,
And there is good to be found in all situations.
Reach for the good.
Be strong, and don’t give up.
B: You’ve been listening to “Just a thought” with Brenda Cribbin
