Ministry of Public Prayer formation

Parishioners from across the diocese attended three Saturdays this Spring to prepare to lead weekday morning liturgies in their parish. This is part of the on-going process of formation for all who lead public prayer in their local faith communities here in this diocese. Some parishioners were not able to attend these three Saturdays, or have since become involved in this ministry.

This one day training is for those who have joined parish teams leading public prayer in the community, but who have not completed the three day training last Spring.

It is an opportunity to reflect on the background/context of our morning liturgies, and its implication for how we lead liturgy (embodied, inclusive, well prepared, pastoral).

This is also suitable for:

- clergy and/or sacristans who would like to be part of, or learn about, the formation completed so far.

- parishioners who did not attend Spring training but who will attend the ‘funeral prayers’ training later in the Autumn

All are welcome but places must be booked in advance, by the parish priest or PPC chairperson, on behalf of the parish by calling 061 400133.  There is no charge for this formation.
