Finance
The Finance Department is administered by Mr. Tony Sadlier, Finance Manager and Margaret Dalton, Administration
Where we're located
The Diocese of Limerick Finance Function is located at the Diocesan Office, Limerick Social Service Centre, Henry Street, Limerick.
What we do
The Department deals with all aspects of Diocesan Finance, interacting on a regular basis with the general public, parish offices, other Dioceses, Regulatory bodies and the Irish Episcopal Conference. The Diocese has a Diocesan Finance Committee, comprised of both priests and lay personnel that generally meet each month to review matters having a financial impact on the Diocese or its parishes. The Diocese also publishes its Audited Accounts each year through the Diocesan Website.
The Office has issued Financial Guidelines to parishes and regularly visits individual parishes to offer guidance and ensure uniform compliance with those guidelines. A general meeting on financial matters is usually held each year with all priests of the Diocese. The Diocese keeps abreast of all current legislation and is currently working toward ensuring a smooth transition in the implementation stages of the Charities Act 2009.
The running of the Office is principally funded from the Diocesan Needs Levies collected at parish level through the overwhelming generosity of parishioners.
