Third Sunday - Year C
S: Good morning. Today we are praying for an increased respect of difference - that we would see difference as a gift rather than a problem.
B: During this week we remember that regardless of Religion we are all children of God - St Paul reminds us of this in our word of life, where he tells the Corinthians “that in the one Spirit we were all baptised.” So we should all rejoice that we are special in the eyes of God.
S: And I think Brenda, that we shouldn’t be afraid either, to express in whatever way, our unique relationship with God. I think sometimes we are afraid to do this for fear of being out of line or odd, but the message of Jesus is always very clear - “do not be afraid, I am with you always”.
B: This mornings reflection is along these lines too - in seeing Jesus in the ordinary things of life,
Thank You, Lord.
I can recognise you in the beauty of nature,
the smile of a child, the sympathy of a friend.
That’s how I can see Your face, hear Your voice,
Feel Your hand, sense Your presence.
S: Thank You, Lord.
In the simple goodness of the family,
the phone call from someone away, the visit, the letter, a prayer,
the ways people look after and care for each other.
I can recognise Your help, concern and care for us.
In all the questions I have about You,
like Your attitude to people’s sufferings, like what You are really like,
like whether You are close or far away from us,
help me to recognise the simple things
that are real signs that You are near.
Thank You, Lord.
B: You’ve been listening to “Just a thought” with Brenda Cribbin
S: and Seamus Madigan. We can be contacted through the Limerick Diocesan Offices at Henry Street. You can also download your own copy of this reflection by clicking on limerickdiocese.org
